Warning re Canned Posts

I am beginning to get canned messages from various groups involved in food politics. Up to now I have posted them. But I am issuing a warning. This is a personal blog, one where I try to understand the past and the present of food. And I think most of my readers are in the same situation I am, curious, concerned and a bit confused.
Hence messages that say “studies have shown” but that (a) don’t address the specifics of my post or readers’ comments, (b) don’t offer links to nor analysis of the studies they cite and (c) speak for a particular political pressure group–well these messages will just be sent off to whirl around in etherspace.

So counter-productive. Don’t they realize that?

But probably expectable as part of the miscellaneous baggage of ’causes’.
OK, causes are great – we all have them – but this superficial politikking…
