Joe Pastry’s Take on Michael Pollan

Published January 15, 2008 by Rachel Laudan

I’d been wondering whether to vent my worries about Michael Pollan’s recent work. Luckily I don’t have to. Joe Pastry’s take is right up my street. And if you go read him, you’ll find lots of interesting stuff on baking too.

THX, Rachel, for the link to Joe P.
I hate the “food-as-medicine” movement. Why can’t we stick with balanced nourishment and pleasure?

Why thank you Rachel! I’m very pleased to make your acquaintance. I’ve gotten quite a bit of traffic over that, plus more than a little bit of hate mail! I’ve very much enjoyed looking around your site, and plan to come back for a more intensive reading session soon.

Thanks Joe. Hate mail? You seem to me even handed and restrained. Hope you find something of interest on my site.

And Kay I think you’ll find lots of interest on Joe’s site since you know a good bit about baking.

And the virtuous food movement is certainly passionate!
